Even Superb materials as 254 SMO wear and tear, like today….
SMO254 is a high-alloy austenitic stainless steel developed for use in seawater and other aggressive chloride-bearing media. The steel is characterized by the following properties:
Excellent resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, PRE = ≥42.5*
High resistance to general corrosion
High resistance to stress corrosion cracking
Higher strength than conventional austenitic stainless steels
Next week I will field visit Ain Sokhna Egypt to make quarters for future Scrubber (EGCS) repairs. Ain Sokhna is in the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone), the terminal acts as a global center between Africa and the world. Super nice to add an extra Port to our Service destinations!!
Not without reason was the cruising industry an early adopter of the #egcs#scrubbers. They were the first in the maritime industrie taking action in preventing air pollution. 🍀 for us. Doing scrubber repair wherever we can fly to.
